We were singing "I Love to See the Temple" and Derek announces that he wants to go to the temple with me. I told him the temple was beautiful. He then says, "I want to play trains in the temple." Try telling a three-year-old that you can't play trains in the temple!
November 2010
Our home teacher, Mike Palmer, had just given a lesson about temples and how the tops of mountains can be holy places, just like a temple. A few weeks later Clint and I were going to see the Stake Presidency to get our temple recommends renewed. As we were leaving I was showing the boys what a recommend looks like. I told them that you had to have one of these cards that showed you were living the commandments in order to enter the temple. Brennan looks at me and says, "Well, I'll just go to the mountains. They are temples and you don't need a special card to get inside." Guess he WAS listening when the home teachers came over!
