3rd Grade Friendship Mix

This is from Mrs. Pettit's blog:
All week we have been learning about each other
and what makes each class member unique.
Today students brought a snack to add to our friendship mix.

As they added their snack to the Friendship Mix, students told
what they are bringing to the "mix" of our classroom.
Students said awesome things like:I'm helpful, I'm kind, I am creative etc.
Doesn't the Friendship Mix look delicious?
Here are the boys in Brennan's class.

Fun at the Park with the Plaisteds

Derek and Caleb got a treat on the first day of school too. Aunt Jean took them to the park. They had fun playing with Tyler and Trevor.

Caleb has a special bond with Tyler. It's so cute to watch!
The outing ended in chocolate shakes, icees and blizzards.
Thanks Aunt Jean!

Brennan's Frist Day of Third Grade

Brennan had a real treat on his first day of school this year. Tyler, Trevor and Aunt Jean were there to send him off. He sure didn't want to leave them, but I was a mean mom and made him go :)

He had a great teacher who has been in contact with us for over two weeks. She had a meet and greet on the Friday before school started so the students could see the classroom and meet her and their fellow classmates. It was great! Her name is Mrs. Pettit. The classroom is a portable with a bright green door. She's an amazing teacher and we are so excited Brennan gets to be in her class!

Cute Caleb

Caleb is such a cutie! He LOVES his blankie and when he wraps himself in it, he calls it "warm." He'll bring me his blanket and say "warm, warm." That's my cue to lay it on him to cover him head to toe.

One day he was so tired that he fell asleep on our chair.
He looked so cute, but I had to move him to his crib so he could stretch out!

Playset Upkeep

Clint and I have been working on re-staining our playset. The boys have fun sanding, but I won't let them stain while I'm not around :)

Clint did a great job on the roof!

Some Beep or Sunbeam?

Caleb was eating his breakfast the other day and I caught him singing, "Some beep, some beep"
It took me a minute, but the tune gave it away.... Sunbeam! He was singing Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam. And, it had been 7 days since he went to nursery. He had a cold and missed church the day before. It had been a whole week. I'd love to say that I taught me that, but nope, it was his great Nursery leaders. Thank you, thank you to the leaders in Primary!!! You work does make a difference.

Ragnar 2011

Clint joined the Ragnar - Wasatch Back Race this year. He trained for months and was very prepared. The race was June 17 and 18th.

Here's a short description of the race:
Wasatch Back?

Think of it as a 192-mile party with 12 friends. Teams of 12 will rock out to live bands, enjoy the wacky participant costumes, and make life-long friends with teammates and competitors. Teams will party along the backside of the beautiful Wasatch Mountains from Logan (85 miles north of Salt Lake City) to Park City, Utah (15 miles east of Salt Lake City).

Van 2 runners.

Packing the Tahoe the morning of departure.

Girls Camp Care Packages

We did it!
Our Top Secret service project was a complete success.
As a Relief Society service project we created care packages to send to our Young Women at girls camp. We had many wonderful sisters that helped with the care packages. We had SO MANY yummy treats, beautiful love letters and loving hands that tied each and every bow. Each young woman received a bag full of treats and then another bag with their hearts, love letters and inspirational quotes. We kept the entire project a secret from the girls and their leaders.

Their camp theme was Be Beautiful to Him

Loving hands put each bag together.

Each girl received these precious hand-made hearts.
Each heart had a little message for the girls.

Bright bows and tags adorned each bag.

We had two big boxes FULL of love!

At 2:45 pm the girls received their care package. After a rainy night (with a tent that leaked), just a few hours of sleep and a long morning hike the girls were enjoying ward time and soaking their feet. When the girls saw their gift from the Relief Society, you could see their eyes light-up. They were so touched, grateful and thankful for the gift. Girls Camp always has a sweet spirit and you could definitely feel it. The Lord took our efforts and they were magnified... It was neat.

One young woman grabbed me as I was leaving and said,
"Thank you. No one has ever done anything like that before... for us."
I'm so grateful the girls KNOW they are loved by their RS sisters.
