Brennan Turns Eight!

Brennan has been looking forward to this day for a long time. He invited a few of his friends over for a Nerf themed party. Brennan made up some "arcade" games and each guest had 60 paper coins they could spend to do activities. At each of the activities the guests could earn tickets. He did an AMAZING job planning and executing his own party. He is a natural leader among his friends. I can't wait to see the amazing things he will do in the years to come.

This was his itinerary for the party:
1. When guests arrive they play outside until everyone has gotten here
2. When everyone is here, we play the treasure hunt. (Brennan hid six eggs with clues. The last egg told about the treasure in the kitchen. Brennan had me put out the cake as the "treasure.")
3. Eat cake and blow-out candles
4. Open presents
5. Play arcade games
6. Nerf gun war outside

Party guests: Brayden Rackham, Jack Palmer, Gage Fry, Lance McDaniel, Shaun Packard and Kenzy Christensen

Brayden was the only one to hit a 100 on the bullseye.

Girl Scout Cookies Have Arrived

Caleb has discovered the deliciousness of Girl Scout Cookies. He thoroughly enjoyed eating his first thin mint cookie of the year.

Derek's Pancakes

With a lot of attention on Brennan turning 8 this month, I made Derek a special breakfast. He was feeling a little left out of the spotlight. Derek loves pancakes in the shapes of letters. He was thrilled to have his entire name for breakfast.

Photo Machine

One of Brennan's favorite things to do at Chuck E. Cheese's is to make photo cards. He has quite a collection. The ones in this photo are from one visit.

Brother Reading to Brother

I love that Brennan is old enough, and willing enough to read to Derek. Last night Derek was almost asleep after the story was done.
